As part of showing our support to the Black Lives Matter Movement, Nuvalence will observe a holiday each year on June 19th in recognition of Juneteenth.  Also called “Freedom Day”, Juneteenth marks the anniversary of the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas were finally freed. This happened a full two years+ after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Starting next year, we’ll organize activities and sponsor community work in support of Black causes each June 19th. Our entire firm stands united in the belief that racism and discrimination have no place in our society. While we would have done this regardless, we’re grateful to have a portfolio of clients who fully support our decision.
