Data mesh is gaining steam as a new way of dealing with distributed data, contrary to the traditional notion of throwing all of your data in the warehouse/lake by default.

Instead, data mesh enforces domain and product thinking for analytical data and argues that a self-serve platform rather than just one large data repository can deliver capabilities and experiences for discovering and analyzing consumable data.

In a blog we posted on the AWS Advanced Partner Network (APN), we discuss the emergence of data mesh and how it can bring value to data consumers. A self-serve platform can also be used to align consumers like BI analysts and data scientists, allowing them to operate in a feedback loop that enhances all use cases for data analysis. We discuss how AWS provides components and services that enable a platform approach, which accelerates shared experiences and outcomes from your analytical data.
